@ sadeepa Thank you for updating boundaries more accurately. I was expecting to do this after finish hambanthota. Previous boundaries I have created some times back with very rough shape. Thanx to sadeepa now we have very accurate ones. Any way did you got any shape files for this boundaries? Or use some other map. Yes, I got shape files. Just wanted to make sure "Sri Pada (Adem's Peak)" belongs to Sabaragamuwa Province, to avoid confusion among Grade 5 Scholarship students, teachers and examiners about "Sri Pada" (ref: 2015 - Grade 5 scholarship exam paper)  Ohh nice to hear that grade 5 students also referring OSM for studies Hope they will not update OSM  |

But survey dept and text books say as sabaragamuwa. As I heard finally examiners had to give marks for both answers. I just wanted to avoid such situations with OSM map. In my opinion Survey dept and government of Sri Lanka has the rightful legal authority in defining administrative boundaries not Google or some other institution. I have only made OSM boundaries very closely match with Survey dept's definitions. |

Today when I was editing Kollupitiya area for naming "Bagatalle Road" I noticed around 15-20 by-roads coming from sea-side located in between Bagatalle Road to Kollupitiya Junction have been detached from the Galle road by somebody. Now I have corrected them. I would like request all that be very cautious when working in this kind of complex and sensitive areas.

actually it not google . its people from our country who updates google maps through google map maker  . i don't think google will worry about province boundaries in Sri Lanka |

I just wanted to refer to how people thinks about Google ( many locals think that if there is any thing on Google that's absolute truth) . |

I think first one is from foreigner. I send msg to him and corrected it. Second one from our famous DCM team. I didn't correct it .its big one and need to check carefully. Currently in office difficult to update. Ajith, if possible please update second one  ? |

Thanks a lot for your prompt action to revert the 1st error at Airport Highway caused by a foreigner. I know those kind of isolated errors can happen anywhere in the world by newbies. But I don't think there are excuses available for a government project. For me, this Disaster Management Center people themselves are a disaster to the OSM.
They must have a project goal.
They must work with professionalism.
They must follow ethics.
They must have a good supervision.
But Can you see how irresponsible they are. So far no one has responded or corrected this massive error. Who is supposed to correct the bullshit? In the earlier case I had to correct most of the things at Gampaha town. If they fail to revert this we should complain to the Director General Disaster Management Center.

Today as usually I completed basic error correction of the Negombo road. However I also not happy with aesthetics. I will do the fine tuning later.

yesterday day was horrible day.i found critical errors in map . 1.part of colombo kandy road deleted in ranwala junction. 2.ranwala - polgahwela road completely deleted. 3.one part of colombo kandy road in kegalle is deleted (inside town two one way roads one section is deleted) 4.moratuwa piliyandala road remove tags. so its not rendering. i have to search many many change sets to find deleted one. luckily able to find 1,and 2 so i reverted back for 3 dind able to find have so i draw again. 4 - mapper who did this add some more details on that change set ,so i din't revert it but corrected the road. how i got this errors ? i am able to run Zkir's OSM validator locally .i think sadeepsa know this. i will put details in separate thread. because of this situation i am thinking to run this at least every two days. i saw several non critical errors should fixed as soon as possible. FYI now our osm grade is F  previously it was B- |

If this continues to happen, how do we cope up with this situation. I think those new guys(I assume) are not anyway trying to sabotage. But they have no passion,intention,commitment,ethics or knowledge for this task. Only problem is they try to make big things at the very first end of their learning curve. Thilina, please publish their user names so that we also can keep close eye on them. Anyway a big thank you again.... |

මගේ අතිනුත් ඔහොම වැරදි දෙයක් වෙලා එක පාරක් අජිත් මට එක ගැන කියල දුන්න. ඉතින් හොදම දේ මෙතන ඉන්න ප්රවීනයො ආදුනික අයව(මම ඇතුළුව) පුහුණු කරලා ගන්න ඕනේ.
